From September 25-27, 2008, the Roosevelt Academy in Middelburg will be hosting the symposium The Invention of the Dutch Telescope: Its Origin and Impact on Science, Culture and Society, 1550-1650. The symposium is organized in cooperation with the Huygens Institute for the History of Literature and Science of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, The Hague.

This symposium is sponsored by: The Province of Zeeland and the Municipality of Middelburg.
